Whitsundays Region

With sparkling azure waters and endless white beaches, the Whitsunday Islands in the Great Barrier Reef are absolute paradise.

The Whitsunday region of Australia stretches from Laguna, north to beautiful Bowen and inland to Proserpine.

You will be mesmerised by the spectacular natural beauty of the 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays. Surrounded by colourful coral reefs, tropical settings, unique wildlife and marine life, you will always have plenty to do.

Lots of tours are available, many of them focusing on popular water activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, game fishing and sailing the Whitsundays. Private charters of the Whitsunday Islands are also offered.

Most visitors are transferred to the Whitsunday Islands via Shute Harbour at Airlie Beach. Being the closest mainland town, you will find a variety of Airlie Beach accommodation, ranging from camping sites to luxury resorts. Many of the Airlie Beach hotels can arrange your tour bookings for you too.

Several of the Whitsunday Islands are popular tourist destinations, including Daydream Island, Hayman Island and South Molle Island, and Hamilton Island is great for families with its special Kids Club.

If you’re after a romantic getaway, Brampton Island is ideal. Hook Island is extremely popular for diving in the Whitsundays. Long Island is largely National Park and its three resorts boast connecting with nature while Lindeman Island, also mostly National Park, has a variety of peaceful walking tracks.

If you can’t decide which islands to visit, why not arrange a Whitsunday private yacht charter and visit them all! One thing is for certain, you won’t be disappointed.
