Townsville Region

The largest city in far North Queensland, Townsville is sure to provide everything you need for a fantastic Great Barrier Reef holiday.

For the adventurous, nearby Tully Gorge offers fantastic white water rafting experiences. If you’re not after that massive adrenalin rush, perhaps a day or two of sailing, diving or snorkelling on the Reef would be a better choice. Just 30 metres offshore of Townsville is a world famous dive site – the Yongala Wreck.

Nearby Magnetic Island is a popular tourist playground and nature lovers’ dream. This idyllic island is home to a vast array of wildlife, including Queensland’s largest koala colony.
